Board Members

Farrcroft Homeowners Association is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five members, each of which is elected to a specific term by the association members. Board members typically take lead responsibility to oversee and address various operational issues (e.g., maintenance, finances, security, architectural review, etc.).

Election of officers

The election of officers takes place at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following the homeowner’s annual meeting.  Term of office is one year.

Board of Director’s Biographies

 

Mike Hancock

Mike and his wife Mary moved to Farrcroft from Arlington in January 2000. He has been active on the Grounds Committee since 2001 and was chairman of the committee for two years. He was a founding member of the Garden Club. Mike was elected to the Board at the November 2005 annual meeting. Mike retired from the United States Foreign Service in 1995 but still works part time for the Department of State. While in the Foreign Service, Mike and Mary lived in Mexico (twice), Sweden, Honduras, the UK, and Spain. His last foreign assignment was as American Consul General in Madrid. His interest in foreign affairs began during his assignment to Honduras as a Peace Corps Volunteer. He is a graduate of the University of Denver and holds a Master’s degree from the George Washington University. 

 

 

Tim Hope

Tim Hope served as the Pool Committee Chair prior to being elected to the HOA Board of Directors. He has served in the role of Secretary and Vice President.  Tim and his family have been homeowners of Farrcroft since May 2001. He retired from active duty with the Army in 2004 and is currently employed with Alion Science and Technology. 

 

Joseph E. Rossmann

Joe is the Vice President of Fringe Benefits for Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC), a national trade association made up of 23,000 contractors and construction related firms.  Joe was appointed to the BOD to fill a vacancy and then elected to the BOD in 2007.  A resident in Fairfax City since 1995, Joe and his wife Katie moved to Farrcroft in 2002.

 

Sarah Harrison

Sarah and her husband Steve have resided in Farrcroft since 2001.  Sarah is a graduate of George Mason University with a degree in accounting.  She has past experience working as the Treasurer of several civic organizations and currently works as Financial Officer of a local governmental authority.  After being appointed the BOD in 2005, Sarah ran for office in 2006 and was elected to the BOD.  Sarah has served on the BOD as Treasurer since 2005.

 

Sharon Barcellos

Sharon Barcellos and her husband Bart have been homeowners in Farrcroft since February of 2002. Although born and raised in Nevada, when Bart retired from the military in 1995 they made Virginia their home. They resided in Springfield prior to moving to Farrcroft. Sharon is employed as a program manager at the Graduate School, USDA. She began serving on the Board in the spring of 2003 when she was appointed to fill a board vacancy. Sharon was elected to continue on the Board in December, 2003 and re-elected in December, 2006. She has served on the Board as the Director-at-Large, President and is currently Secretary.
